About
Studioohman explores the intersection of architecture and performing arts and was established in 2020 by Maria Öhman.
Maria is an architect based in Stockholm. She has an extensive background as a contemporary dancer, having worked with some of Europe’s leading choreographers, including Cristina Caprioli in Stockholm, Hans van den Broeck in Brussels and Sasha Waltz in Berlin. She has performed on multiple stages, such as Schaubühne in Berlin, BAM in New York, and Théâtre de la Ville in Paris. In 2013, she began studies at KTH, graduating with a master's degree in architecture in 2018. Maria is interested in giving established ideas a new interpretation. This is evident in projects like Traces of Life, an ongoing exploration of discarded objects, Paperwork, which transforms newspapers, and her thesis project, which envisions a future for Tallkrogen, a suburban single-family home area south of Stockholm.
